“Hello everyone, I’m Sunny! I’m a lead trainer and director of Sunny Yoga.
Finding a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) that is right for you can be an overwhelming and quite intimidating experience. With Yoga Alliance approving online YTT Schools due to COVID, YTT’s have become abundant and mainstream. However, because of this the quality of the teacher training courses have reduced. The main objective of a YTT is to equip you with the knowledge and skills to deepen your own practice so that you can show up for your students as a well-rounded, authentic yoga instructor. Make sure to look at testimonials before you sign up with a school, to ensure that this objective has been met for previous students.
Besides learning the 200h Yoga Teacher Training standard curriculum from one of the best yoga teachers on the island. This training also includes 10 hours of Ayurveda (some training on the island only includes 1.5 hours), and Self-Experience Modules to enhance your experience. So what are these and why are we learning them?

“The path of Ayurveda truly changed my life.”
When Ayurveda came to her, it felt like meeting a long-lost friend who happened to be the greatest healer she has ever known. Her Pitta/Vata constitution drives her zest for life, which she leads with a passionate, structured and honest heart.
Through 8 years of extensive travels around Asia, personal practice, study and training with Ayurvedic doctors in India, she developed a natural blend of ancient wisdom with modern wellbeing to support her clients in living harmoniously with Nature. Her greatest joy is to meet them in their unique mind-body constitution and design lifestyle plans for long-lasting health and happiness.
Her qualifications include: Ayurveda Therapist Training Level 1 (with Dr. Arun Sharma at Ayuskama Clinic and Institute), Panchkarma Training (with Dr. Indru at Amala Hospital), Ayurveda Training (with Dr. Ratan at Singh Ayurvedic Clinic Gokarna), RYT-500 (Yoga Alliance Training).
SE modules are self-experience modules, where we learn all together in the group about ourselves. Please read more about it here below.
To put it in simple words, I would say, it’s about:
To all of this, I would like to invite you.
“Despite yoga naturally being an encompassing philosophy for itself, Sunny and I were thinking for quite some time about how we could broaden a professional 200h and 300h TTCs by bringing holistic elements of mental healthcare to the training. We ended up with the idea of implementing systemic self-experience modules (SE) for one’s personal development in an upcoming yoga teacher training. We believe this will enhance your personal growth and add a positive effect to your life and help you to become a better yoga teacher. Therefore, we set up our 200h TTC + SE modules that are run by Systemic body-integrated Therapy and Gestalt Therapy interventions.
As a certified and experienced (body-integrated) Systemic Therapist *, I have been working for 9 years meanwhile in Berlin Germany. I will be the one guiding you through SE modules. Our modules are meant to enhance and envelop your personal self-knowledge, self-confidence and allow overall personal growth – to help you become a great yoga teacher.” – Boris
*Systemic Therapy” is from the German stateside, officially accepted psychotherapy method, since July 2020.
If you would like to know more about the SE modules and what we’re going to do there, simply contact us and ask, we love to give you more info about it.
Otherwise just take your chance of a left-free space, sign in and join us. It will perfectly enhance your spiritual growth, we will experience, discover, and unfold (playfully, open-hearted & caring) ourselves, individually, and as a group.
…Imanuel Carrere says, everything we do with passion and serosity, is Yoga. Remembering this, we now decided (after years of just envisioning it) to broaden this Sunny Yoga TTC with these special SE modules, as described above – to help you be the best and well-balanced (idol and) yoga teacher you can be.
Sunny Yoga, a boutique Yoga school founded by native Thai Sunny (Sunsanee), is one of the most successful Yoga schools on Koh Phangan and is the only Yoga school in South Thailand led by a Thai woman. Sunny’s unique personality and life experience make each of her TTCs a special experience as she puts a lot of thought and love into her training and sweetens challenging sessions with her playful yet sincere humor. Her approach is very grounded and less about ‘chasing enlightenment’ with a quick fix but rather guiding individuals to become the best version of themselves through sincere self-work, discipline, and practice as well as fun and play.
A Yoga Teacher Training is not only a course to learn a new professional skill, it is a consciously chosen life-transforming period of time with ups and downs as your body and mind go through the stages of self-reflection, shedding, and growth. This can be an intimidating and exhausting process, especially if you are new to Yoga and/or aiming to do some serious personal development and healing work for yourself. With an average class size of only 10-18 students, Sunny’s TTCs have a pleasantly intimate feel and high-quality care for each student. It is a beautiful safe space to learn, share, listen, pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and make deep live-long connections with your classmates.
While Sunny’s style challenges the students physically and mentally, she balances the hard work with fun extracurricular activities for the students, such as taking them to Thai cultural places/events*, nature sights, dancing, ecstatic dance, etc.
In addition to the standard TTC curriculum (Asanas, Pranayama, Anatomy, Philosophy, etc), her loyal and highly qualified TTC teachers and lecturers offer special elements, including Ayurveda, breathwork, and acro yoga etc. to round up the training.
